State begins processing tax returns; refunds coming

BATON ROUGE - The state has started issuing state tax refunds, it announced Monday.
Refunds were withheld for about two weeks so the state could more thoroughly screen tax returns in light of fraudulent returns being filed across the country
The Department of Revenue originally said it would not process returns, thus holding up refunds, until March 2nd. But, said, it started three days earlier, on Friday.
