Property tax bills in the mail -- or have arrived -- from Jefferson Parish

Source: nola.com - Dec 7, 2016

Just as Christmas follows Thanksgiving, 'tis the season for property tax bills from Jefferson Parish. The 2016 notices were mailed for delivery by Dec. 15, the Sheriff's Office said, and some property owners have already received them.

"I got mine," Paul Rivera said Wednesday (Nov. 30) with a laugh. He's the chief financial officer for the Sheriff's Office.

The Sheriff's Office, which is Jefferson's official tax collector, began mailing 175,203 notices on Nov. 22. Property owners not receiving a bill by Dec. 15 should call the Sheriff's Office tax division. Payment is due by Dec. 31.
