he Louisiana Heart Hospital in Lacombe will close its doors by the end of February, hospital administration confirmed in a statement.

WDSU received several messages from viewers about the closure, which wasn't confirmed until Tuesday. The hospital opened in 2003 and offers several inpatient and outpatient medical services.

According to the statement, the hospital filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
