Jefferson Parish woman says she lost half her savings to scam

LAFITTE, La. —

A Jefferson Parish woman is overcome with outrage and emotion after she said she lost half of her savings to a scam.

Pearl Wyman said she was approached on Facebook about a $200,000 grant, only to lose thousands of dollars. Wyman showed WDSU the receipts and gift cards she purchased from February to May, totaling $5,000.
