Highway Use Tax Return (Form 2290) Due

Returns must be filed and tax payments made by deadline for vehicles used on the road during July of this year. For vehicles first used after July, the deadline is the last day of the month following the month of first use.

So, if you were already operating your rig in July, then file and pay the form by 8/31. If you start operating one later this year, for example, in October, that return would then be due by Nov 30th.
