Folger’s Is Seeking $25 Million in Tax Breaks From New Orleans

The Folger Coffee Co., which has a plant in New Orleans East, is seeking nearly $25 million in tax breaks from the city of New Orleans, some of which is for long-completed projects, reports NOLA.com. The company is applying for the tax breaks through the Industrial Tax Exemption Program, or ITEP, a Louisiana initiative that exempts businesses from paying “as much as 80 percent of the property taxes they’d pay on developments or other investments,” like renovations or upgrades.
