Washington man sends finger to IRS to protest taxes

Source: nydailynews.com - Jul 12, 2017

A Washington man cut off one of his own fingers and sent it to the Internal Revenue Service as a means of protesting his taxes.

Normand Lariviere sent the macabre message to the tax men in Utah last year as part of a series of shipments, including a joint, a bullet and a fake pipe bomb, according to a federal complaint.

A government affidavit says that Lariviere, 68, had previously worked as a civilian electrician for the Navy, and filed “several grievances” to agencies including the IRS and Veteran’s Affairs and after it cut staff in the early 1990s.
