Treasury to host unclaimed property event in Baton Rouge

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — The Louisiana Department of the Treasury is hosting an unclaimed property event Saturday at the Mall of Louisiana in Baton Rouge.

Employees will be stationed by the Dillard's entrance from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

State Treasurer John Kennedy is encouraging flood victims to attend after the program recently returned thousands to a woman who was at a shelter after losing her home.
