Former America Online Chairman Steve Case and Aspen Institute CEO Walter Isaacson will headline next month's New Orleans Entrepreneur Week. The fourth annual event scheduled for March 10 through 16 will feature seminars and workshops as well as opportunities for local start-up companies to get hands-on assistance and to pitch their concepts to potential investors.

The event is put on by the Idea Village, a nonprofit dedicated to nurturing entrepreneurial ventures, and is billed by the group as a festival of entrepreneurship aimed at everyone from budding entrepreneurs to established businesses. More than 500 entrepreneurs participated in last year's event.

The workshops will cover a wide swath of topics ranging from franchising and online marketing to attracting and retaining talent. In addition, the weeklong event will feature a lending fair. Matt Flannery, co-founder of Kiva, a nonprofit micro-lending organization; David Kappos, undersecretary for Commerce and director of the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office; and Steve Stoute, CEO of Translation LLC and chairman of Carol's Daughter, are also scheduled to give addresses.

"New Orleans Entrepreneur Week is a tremendous opportunity for a person who wants to grow their own business; they can tap into an ecosystem of free support provided by nationally recognized experts, professionals and innovative corporations," said Tim Williamson, co-founder and CEO of the Idea Village. "The opportunity to engage and benefit from this ecosystem is one reason New Orleans continues to attract and retain new ventures and high-caliber investors."

All of the seminars and workshops will take place in the IP building, at 643 Magazine St. in New Orleans.

Registration for New Orleans Entrepreneur Week 2012 is free and open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration can be done at http://ideavillage.org/programs/noew/.
