Personal income in Louisiana grows by $1.9 billion in second quarter

Personal income in Louisiana increased by 1.7 percent, or $1.9 billion, during the second quarter of 2014, according to data released Tuesday by the U.S. Department of Commerce.

Louisiana's growth is above the national average of 1.5 percent. The nation posted $149 billion in earnings growth in the second quarter.

This is the second straight quarter Louisiana has seen growth in personal income after seeing increase of 1.1 percent during the first quarter.
