Louisiana one of seven states to record significant rise in unemployment last month, magazine reports

Louisiana was one of seven states with "statistically significant" increases in unemployment last month, Governing magazine reports. Louisiana joined Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vermont, Maryland and Wyoming in recording at least a 0.3-point increase, according to the magazine.

Louisiana's unemployment rate increased from 5 percent to 5.4 percent, according to the magazine. Tennessee led the nation with a 0.5-point increase.
