NEW ORLEANS (AP) — A Denmark-based company that makes wind turbine blades is expanding its New Orleans office into a tech center for the Americas that will test new design and building techniques.

LM Wind Power says it will create 100 new jobs with average salaries of $52,000 by 2021.

The facility will drive innovation "to ensure that LM Wind Power is able to design longer, lighter, more affordable blades - a key driver in the continued growth of the U.S. wind power industry," CEO Duncan Berry said in a Louisiana Economic Development news release.
