Facebook to host digital training workshops in New Orleans in August

Facebook plans to host three days of free local training and workshops in New Orleans in August to help small businesses, entrepreneurs and job seekers strengthen their digital skills, the social media giant said Thursday.

As part of its Community Boost initiative, which was announced last year, Facebook officials have committed to visiting 50 American cities in 2018, with a goal of training one million small businesses and job seekers by 2020.

The local training sessions are scheduled for Aug. 7 through Aug. 9 at a location to be announced later.
