Annual Louisiana Sales Tax Holiday

Hey everyone, Louisiana is having its annual sales tax holiday on August 1st and 2nd (Fri and Sat). Basically, you pay no sales tax for the "first $2,500 of the purchase price of most individual items of tangible personal property for non-business use" you purchase that weekend--personal property is pretty much everything you can think of--electronics, clothes, tools, furniture, school supplies, etc--with few exceptions.

Although the tax holiday is on state tax only, some parishes may also participate. For example, St Charles parish is also participating--in essence making purchases in that parish almost "10%" off!! Check out your own local and surrounding parishes to see if yours is participating.
